PM and RM Transaction Lookup Window

Two of the most used windows in our company would be Enquiry Transaction by Debtor and Enquiry Transaction by Creditors.

The first things every user does are:

  • Change to by Document Date
  • Click of Work and History

Is there a way to change the window so these are the defaults?

Yes there is a way to do that, but not without a bit of coding.

We can use VBA, if you are not going to use Web Client in future. We can use either Dexterity trigger or VS Tools plugin (recommended) to achieve that, if you are going to use Web Client in future.

Both of above would not have bad impact on GP, meaning if you do not want it in future, you may simply remove them without any impact.

    Hi,

Alternatively to Vaidy's good suggestions, and depending on your exact requirements, you could make use of Smartlists.

Create a smartlist favorite that shows only open documents (Document Status = Posted), and sort by Document Date.  The only thing required by the user then would be to enter a restriction on customer number.

    Thanks,

    Justin

    Hi Adrian,

EthoTech has a free piece of software called SmartSort that will let you change the default sort order to Document Date. I've used it for many years without issue. It will handle the sort, but not the checkboxes. Another idea is to record a macro that opens the lookup window, unchecks the boxes and changes the sort. Link the macro to a keyboard shortcut and then use the shortcut to open the window. For instance, you could use F4 to open the lookup window instead of the standard navigation.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

I would suggest a small, clean and straightforward dexterity customization, which will free you from all the tensions.
