Hi Experts,

What is the difference between Item Reclassification Journal and Item Journal in terms of technical structure?

I've checked the /post/ action of the Item Reclassification journal page, and it calls the /Item Jnl.-Post/ Codeunit. Similarly, the Item Journal also performs the same action.
However, I've noticed that the entry type in Item Ledger Entry for Item Reclassification journal is always /Transfer./ How does this happen?

I need to understand this because I'm working on a functionality where you can input a new expiration date in the Lot Information Card.

Then, with a click of an action, it will create the Item Reclassification journal and post it with the new expiration date for that Particular LOT in Lot information Card.

I've been stuck on this for more than a week. It would be great if some of you could lend me a hand on this one.

@YUN ZHU , Thank you So much for the response.

This is great. But What is difference in the Code(AL) in the back ground? Because I know that both Normal Item Journal page and Item Reclassification have the same Source table.

But During the posting , Reclassification doing something different that Normal Item Journal Posting.

It would be great , if you give me your view on this one.

Item Reclassification Journal

Hi, simply put, you can think of Item Journals as the current in and out of the inventory, and Item Reclassification Journals as the status changes (new location, Bin, Lot, Dimension, etc.) of the existing inventory
