Issue when adding privileges to Security Role

(0) ShareShare

Hi All,

I'm getting the following error when adding privileges to a Security Role.

CRM_5F00_SecRole_5F00_Issue.png

Thing is that my user doesn't have the Role that I'm trying to edit assigned. My user is both Administrator and Customizer.

In my Sandbox Environment, with the same roles assigned, this issue does not exist.

Anyone an idea?

Regards,

Aaron

    Hi,

Did you check whether the administrator having full privileges? check with the administrator role only.

Even the error continues please let me know.

    hi Kishor,

I removed all roles expect the Administrator, still same effect. I checked if the admin has full privileges, but the role cant even be modified, so I assume it does.

    thnx,

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,

I know this is not an answer, but we came across this issue in our Production and our Development sandbox environments. We were trying to copy a CRM security role (Salesperson) to a new security role (ABC - Salesperson). If we try and perform the same function on non-Microsoft CRM created security roles, it copies without an issue.

Our Test sandbox doesn't have the same error. We tried with the CRM Admin account and also Administrator accounts.

All environments are on the latest CRM version (2016 Online).

We will be logging a ticket w/ Microsoft today, and hopefully will get a reply sometime in the next few weeks. When we do, will will advise on the result if you don't already have an answer.

    hi Kim,

I will probably also be logging a ticket with Microsoft soon, but if you hear something please let me know.

For now its solved, I created a new role which only holds the additional privileges the users need. Not ideal, but the only way to continue right now.  Thanks for sharing your situation. Btw, copying of Microsoft Roles also gives me the same issue....

    Kind regards,

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,

Microsoft got back to us quite quickly on this one.

    The fix is quite simple, and is as follows;

    1. Open the security role you wish to copy.
    2. Select the Core tab.
    3. Look for the Data Performance Dashboard.

    4. Change the privilege levels from off or on, as required.

There is now only two settings you can have for this item, on or off.

    Hope this helps your issue.
