Hi,

I would like to find out how do I set up this portion in Planning, under Item Card, so that my purchaser can know when the stocks required to fill up the stocks?

Is there a trigger email or notification?

Thank you!

    Josh,

After setting up the Replenishment and Planning Fast Tabs for an Item card, a User can run Requisition Worksheet or Planning Worksheet (MRP) [Note: I am talking about purchase and transfer actions]. You can also setup Manufactured Items and run MPS to see Prod. Order requests. The Planning parameters in conjunction with Demand and Supply will generate a Requisition/Planning Worksheet request.

Here is my handout when it comes to Supply Planning.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hello,

Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central Forum.

The following Document link provides detailed guidance related to the Planning configuration in Dynamics NAV and Business Central:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../design-details-planning-parameters

The Planning Worksheet - Calculate Regenerative Plan and the Requisition Worksheet - Calculate Plan will provide the suggestions to the planner for what supply orders may need to be placed based on the defined Planning Parameters on the Item Card or Stockkeeping Unit Card (SKU).   The Planner will actively go into these Worksheets and run the respective process to generate the planning suggestions based on the planning parameters. There is no email notification or trigger.  Of course, on the Sales Orders there are availability warnings that are generated if there is not enough stock to meet the Sales Line quantity. However, running the calculate process from the worksheet will create the supply suggestions.

I hope this helps explain some of the foundational concepts of planning for you and your client.

    Best Regards,

    Tom
