Hi,
I am receiving the following message while generating hierarchy based workflow.

Stopped (error): ClrInterop Exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Function 'ConvertAmountField()' has failed. X++ Exception: A currency to convert to is required to retrieve exchange rate information. at SysWorkflowHierarchyProvider-resolve .

I have found that a hot fix exists for the mobile expense report version.

KB 4043706"A currency to convert to is required to retrieve exchange rate information"

As of now, no hot fix related to this error of Purch req exist!

Let me know if anything weird with the setup or missing.

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,

Zain

    Hi Zain,

Can you kindly please specify the D365 FinOps version and if it's cloud or on-premise.

Is this happening for all records or is it some specific scenario. Also error message sounds there is an issue in retrieving the exchange rate information. Did you had a look at is there any issue with setup.

Also I have found Issue 340195 - Resolved (KB number: 4512685) : Free text invoice error message “A currency to convert from is required to retrieve exchange rate information.” But it seems different issue error message looks bit same.

If all above is fine have a quick debug and see if there any pointers you can find if not recommend to log the case with Microsoft support.

    Thanks,

    Kasun

    Hi Kasun,

I have verified the setups, my accounting currency & reporting currency is USD. My PR approval amount is in USD. Exchange rate setup does not need to be accounted for this type in general.

    Regards,

    Zain
