Custom BIDS Report Produces Error: Report render failure. Error: The 'CaseID' parameter is missing a value

I have a report that does work when I turn the visibility of the parameter CaseID to Visible, however when I turn it to Hidden I get the error (shown in event viewer on app server).  I have followed through a few posts that I saw that stated to rename the parameter, deploy report, rename parameter back to original name and re-deploy all to no success.  Has anyone come across this issue with custom reports and may have a valid solution for this?

    Hi,

I'm assuming that this is because CaseID doesn't have a default value and it needs to be visible to be populated? How are you populating the Case ID parameter - it won't be populated by Dynamics CRM - you'll need to use the CRM_FilteredIncident parameter and then set the default value using this. See stackoverflow.com/.../crm-2011-and-ssrs-generating-a-report-for-a-single-record

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

RE: Custom BIDS Report Produces Error: Report render failure. Error: The 'CaseID' parameter is missing a value

    Hello Scott,

Thank you for the update, however I am not using a FetchXML based report.  I am using the CRMAF_ prefix in the query however when I run the report that parameter does not seem to be getting the value from crmaf_incidentid as it should to run against the single record that is open in the form.  My query is shown below and below that are my settings for the @CaseID parameter

    select CRMAF_fi.customeridname,

    CRMAF_fi.createdbyname,

    CRMAF_fi.createdon,

    CRMAF_fi.incidentid,

    CRMAF_fi.title,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_calltagname,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_accntnum,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_contactnamename,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_invoicedate,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_invoicenumber,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_errortypename,

    CRMAF_fi.ticketnumber,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_branchname,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_comments,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_resolution,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_invoicereceived,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_receivedaccountnamename,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_receivedaccountnumber,

    CRMAF_fi.dandh_custrecname

    from filteredincident CRMAF_fi

    where CRMAF_fi.incidentid = @CaseID

    CaseID Parameter Settings:

General tab - Name & Prompt are both set to CaseID, data type is text, all check boxes are blank and the visibility is Hidden

Avail Values tab - None is selected

default Values tab - No default value is selected

Advanced tab - Automatically refresh is selected and the check to notify is selected

RE: Custom BIDS Report Produces Error: Report render failure. Error: The 'CaseID' parameter is missing a value

The resolution to this issue was to make the AccountID searchable in CRM.  We wanted to hide the GUID from advanced find, however when using BIDS reports tied to accounts the GUID must be a searchable field.  very odd but this did resolve our issue.
