Approval Workflow for Recurring Journal Entries and Fixed Asset Journal Entries

Both recurring journal entries and fixed asset journal entries are flagged by the approval workflow for journal batches and entries, meaning they require to be sent for approval before they can be posted. This is a good thing. The issue is that I do not see the ability to send either the batch or line through for approval in the menus for both types of entries... Am I missing something, or is this an oversight? Is this flagged to add the ability to request approval for these these types of journal entries?

Yes. The action to request approval is not available in recurring and FA journal. What you can do is to create an extension to add the request approval action into those pages.

Thanks aotto. Seems to me that this should be standard programming rather than a customization. Do you know if Microsoft is planning to add this basic journal entry functionality? Wondering before paying for customization.

    Hello,

If you think that this is something that should be added to basic product, feel free to reach out via https://aka.ms/bcideas . You can also search there if this has been requested already. Based on priority of the requests, we will look at these entries and see if it is possible to add it to the base product.

    Thanks.

Hi - we have also recently come across this & found that if you create a standard journal & post the journal via that way, you can push it through the approval workflow process.
