Is there a way in Dynamics GP to issue a top level MO and have subordinate MOs for all the nested BOMs created and issued automatically?

You can run a MO for BOM and for all its child BOMs, but I wonder if running a MO and then additional/subsequent MOs for its child BOMs.
I don't think that you will run a MO on BOM but not on its child BOMS because Child has to be build to build Master or may be no.
Let's see if any expert throws some more light on it.

There wasn't in GP2013 R2 so we use Willowares MO Generator to do this. Very reasonably priced.

Yes if your subordinate BOM's are created as Phantom.
