How to write off damaged or expired stock sold to the customer?

Posted on by 90

Sometimes, if stock is damaged or short expired when it gets to a customer, we ask them to destroy it on our behalf. How to do this in Business Central?

    Thanks for the reply.

I was more concerned about the steps involved in writing off such damaged goods. eg do the sales return and then stock adjustment or any process to do stock adjustment without sales return.

    Hi Vikas._646,

Have you ever tried using Item Journals to adjust inventory? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/inventory-how-count-adjust-reclassify#to-adjust-the-inventory-of-one-item

If you need more details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/adjust-inventory/

You can also consider specific general business posting group, depending on your specific needs.
