HI  all Experts,

Have a nice day.

because of actual purchase receipt and other business scenario, we change the Unit rounding decimal precision from 0 to 2.

from change time to now, we not find any error for this change, but i am not sure if any other influence for this change?

whether u do this change at before, if you have any advice, pls tell me.

thanks!!

    Hi,

We also changed that, but from 2 to 3 decimals. We didnt encounter any errors in this case. The reason why we changed it, is because of the rounding, the invoice linked to the purchase order didnt match the quantities and we received an error message. When you encounter it the first time, you need to correct the values (qty) in the invoice. Although the quantities seem to be the same, it was different. D365FO displays 2 decimals but calculates with 6 decimals, also depending on the rounding precision.

I wouldnt be surprised if you need to change it to 3 decimals after a while.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi,

I have seen issues with too less number of decimals and too many. Can you describe why you think you need 2 decimals for pieces? In my thought, a piece is the smallest unit doesn't need decimals.

    Hi CU24010020,

If you have receipted with 2 decimal precisions and if you invoice with 3 decimal precisions you will encounter an error message, as Adis rightly said. Remember a customer where we had to consider up to 6 decimal precisions to calculate fuel prices.

    Suggestions:
    1. Have an unit defined explicitly to consider 3 decimal precisions and assign it to the product.
    2. In addition to the first suggestion you can also consider unit conversions where the unit you need to convert to is set to 3 decimal precisions from the 2 decimal precision units through the intraclass conversions (if they are product specific if they are in the same unit class) or inter-class conversions(across different unit classes), based on the business scenario.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.

    HI  André

We use piece change from 0 to 2 decimals, because of when the purchase order created, although product unit use 1 pcs, but actual product receipt is partial receipt, so also need to partial invoiced. (because use 8 parts combinate as 1 pcs)

partial receipt logic is that:   total amount / partial amount = ? (pcs)

about that, we need to change decimal to allow decimals receipt and invoice.
