Hi,

I want business central to not allow me to create a sales order if my item's inventory is not enough. it should not allow me to create an order.

how can i achieve this functionality ?

Hi,

To prevent Sales Post in case Item's inventory is not enough, you can activate Inventory Setup - field "Prevent Negative Inventory".

Sales Order can still be created but not posted whenever system detect not enough Item's quantities.

As Carmen Nunes suggested, you can use setup.

The requirement that you are asking for cannot be fulfilled unless you have created a sales Order and have added Lines to it.

Although you can restrict the Item from adding in the Sales Order by customization wherein you can check if Inventory(Quantity On Hand) <=0 and do not let that Inventory be added.
