Adding a per cent of Total Cost to Manufacturing Order

Running GP manufacturing.  Would like at add to the Cost of every item additional overhead to cover costs not directly associated with the manufacturing of the item but which we would like to include in our profitability analysis for each item.  This would included post-manufacturing things like warehousing,  Intra-company transportaion, manufacturing machine repair and maintenance etc.

Would be perfectly happy to add a flat 10% to the total manufacturing cost of each item to cover this amount but can figure away of doing that in the MO

Thanks in advance for any ideas

Jerry, overhead is applied at the Labor or Machine level.  See Manufacturing>>Cards>>Labor/Machine OH.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Frank

Thanks for your prompt reply but it doesn't help me at all.

What my client wants to do is after the entire manufacturing process is completed and all direct costs have been calculated add 10% of the total cost of producing 1 unit to the cost basis of the item produced.  The goal being to most accurately calculate  the profitability of an item by including some somewhat indirect cost such as warehousing in the cost basis for the item

One idea a was thinking of was to add a final routing step that would add 10% to the value of the item but I can't figure out how to do that

So you want to add 10% to the actual manufacturing cost of that specific order?  That would require a customization.
