Inventory reordering policy - Lot to lot

Hi all,

Based on MS Learn:

If you want to combine the demand for a specific period into one lot, you should use the Lot-for-Lot reordering policy. With the Lot Accumulation Period field, you can specify a period in which multiple demands are accumulated into one supply order when you use the Lot-for-Lot reordering policy. If you enter 1W, for example, the program combines all the requirements in one week into one replenishment.

I have setup the item card as below:

Hence, I created 3 Sales orders:

11/5/2026 Qty 20
19/5/2026 Qty 10
23/5/2026 Qty 15

In the requisition worksheet, I choose the date as 18/5/2026 - 23/5/2026
I expected the result is 10+15 = 25
However, the result shows 45

I don't know what setup I missed, has anyone came cross this?

Thanks!

There are two things I would check.

    1. If you are using locations check to make sure you have a stockkeeping unit setup. You will need to enter planning settings on a SKU level if locations are used.

    2. Do you have any inventory on hand as of 18/5/2026? If not then you are in an inventory deficit. The system is simply just calculating the stock you need to not drop below 0 units. Business Central won't ignore the prior periods if there is a shortage of inventory.

If you open your requisition worksheet and look at Item Availability by > Event you will see the suggestions being made. You may see a shortage in that item availability window.
