Journal Entry Approvals

Hi:

In Business Central, what window do you access to determine who approves the posting of journal entries?

Likewise, I see two types of "sample" journal entry workflows - one for batch and one for line.  Which one determines who approves a journal entry?

    Approval user setup or workflow user applied to the approval workflow.

    Depends on the scenario on which one you go for. Example being most organizations use a batch approval for the payment journal as it’s cash going out. For a line approval it might be if it’s a certain combination of dimensions or over a certain value

    Hi Josh:

    I still don't understand.  Do you simply place the approvers in the workflow user group window and the approval user setup window?

    How do they get applied to the workflow?

    Yes, I looked in the User Setup window earlier and saw none of these selections.

    Could a "security thing" be blocking me, so to speak?

    Approval user setup is the correct page. User setup hides all the fields.

    Hey Josh:

    I went back to the journal entry workflow and, just as you showed me on the vendor approval workflow, it's simply a matter of editing one of the record restrictions to reference the simple workflow user groups that I created.

    At least, I hope that that works.  :)
