Workflow User Groups - Peer Approval

Hi,

New to the forum.

I have 4 staff who create & post general journals. I want to create a Workflow User group to peer review (approve) a general journal before it can be posted.

Any 1 of the 4 can create the lines in the journal.

I want any 1 of the remaining 3 to have to approve it before posting.

So far, I have created a "General Journal Batch Approval Workflow"

changed "an approval request is approved" to "<always>"

and set "Approver Type" to a workflow user group.

In the user group I have added the 4 users all with sequence number 1.

If a user in the user group creates the journal and send for approval, as they are in the group, they automatically approve the journal and it can be posted.

Is there any way to make it so that the users in the user group can't self approve?

Scott

    Scott,

I am attaching my handout on Approval Workflow Groups. This will help you setup and fulfill the requirement.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steven,

Thats really handy, thanks. However, still leave the last bit of my query unresolved.

"If a user in the user group creates the journal and send for approval, as they are in the group, they automatically approve the journal and it can be posted.

Is there any way to make it so that the users in the user group can't self approve?"

Any idea if there is a way to restrict self approval?

    Scott,

I have not found a way using base BC. However, I recall a way in Power Automate that allows you to add more filtering and conditions.  Check out this recording that might give you direction to resolve: www.youtube.com/watch

    Thanks,

    Steve
