Hi everyone
Our company will soon begin a project to upgrade from AX to D365. We operate within the retail and wholesale industry. While we do not have our own transportation fleet, we have relatively complex transportation planning and management needs — covering both inbound and outbound flows. This includes optimal load planning for contracted carriers, route optimization (e.g., cross-docking, via terminal, direct delivery), integration with HUBs, and more. Given this, I’m reaching out to the Dynamics community for recommendations:
Which transportation planning and management tools would you suggest we look into that integrate well with D365?
Currently, we are using a heavily customized AX solution for transportation. From what we have seen so far, D365 does not appear to offer significant improvements in TMS functionality compared to AX. Any insights or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!
