Hi Amantaj
Vi have similar situation and we have multiple tenants - one domain = one tenant, so the simple answer is yes, but you should be aware of some of the downsides. We are only in the beginning of this multiple tenant setup, so maybe we do not know all downsides yet, but I can at least mention a few.
There are no ekstra direct cost by having multiple tenants and you could say that you then for free get multiple sets of 80gb space. You probably only pay one licence per user, but that is also the cause of one of the major downsides.
- Even if we are in the cloud you still have to spend time (money) on admin tasks and the admin work is the same for each tenant, so if you have 2 tenants the work is double of one tenant, if you have 3 tenants the work i triple and so on.
- You probably only pay one licence per user, but then your users can only work in one tenant. This means that you can for example not have employees with access to more than one tenant. If you need that, then you must purchase multiple licences per user and then it will be a very expensive solution.
We have evaluated the up- and downsides and still we have decided to go for the multiple tenant setup. This is because we have only few people that need access to all tenants. For example an accountant doing daily accounting work in company A and supervising the accounting in company B. This accountant has a normal license in company A but only a free "External Accountant" license in company B. The External Accountant license has some limitation in how the accountant can work with company B and each tenant only have 3 "External accountant" licences.
So again, the simple anser is yes, you can have multiple tenants, but you should evaluate ups and downs in you context before you decide.
Kind regards
