Hi All,
I want to show some color on the lead record based on the status of the lead, how can i achieve this functionality?
any help would be appreciated.

You can definitely do this by creating a web resource that displays the colour on a div/span with text as well possibly. This is a supported approach
If you want to set colour to a field on the form, its not supported but you should be able to do using JS, have a look at the link below - The links talks about text color change but you can change background color in the same way

Recently in one of the project, i used the Custom Control - Option Set this displays in different colors, i did not have to change the default colors

Thanks kokulan for the reply,i saw the first link and i was able to change the color of the field text on the form, but the same thing i want to saw on the view.
Is there any way to achieve that too?

Yes you should be able to colour columns as you like, bare in mind these are not supported approaches but have a look at the below links
