How to merge two sitemaps?

Hi,

I've an issue with how to merge two sitemaps from two managed solutions.

I've found this article where process is described:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309329.aspx

but it doesn't work.

One sitemap gets copied over another every time. I would like to achive that additional Area that I've created gets merged with out of the box areas (similary like when you install Power Object packet).  How can I achive this?

BR,

Davor

It would help if you give more detail on each SiteMap.

Also, can you clarify what are trying to achieve with Areas - you can't merge Areas; when a Group or Sub-Area is included in a SiteMap, these will be included in an Area with the same Id that they have in the source. If an are with this Id already exists, they will be merged into it, otherwise the Are will be created

    Hi,

I don't want to merge areas . To clarify:

    1. I have first solution with 1 custom Area that has 1 Subarea.

    2. Second solution has 5 out of the box Areas with out of the box groups and subareas.

I'm trying to merge the first one with second one (both are managed) BUT first one always overwrittens the second one.

I would like to join all Areas.

You have to copy the xml & merge it manually in xrmtoolbox sitemap editor.

Keep a backup before doing it.
