Hi everyone,

I have a task to update a custom field called region which is available in both lead and account. what would be the most suitable way to inherit the region field on the account form from the lead form on qualifying the lead?
Please help me out here with the best practice if there are any examples that i could follow to achieve this.

Thanks in advance!

Go to customizations, then expand entities section, expand lead entity, Click on 1:N Relationships, you will see account_originating_lead open up this relationship. In the new window that opens up, click on Mappings. then create a new mapping for your custom region field by selecting it from Source Entity and Target entity. Save and Publish.

    Hi Nikki,

You can use originating lead lookup field, we have this field on account entity and you can use mapping to show region field from lead to account.

    Thanks,

    Hi Nikki,

Here is some screen shot how to do that --Go to settings--> Customization --> Entity --> lead --> 1:N Relationships.

double click on Lead to Account and Lead to Contact , Click on new and mapped the fields. Hope this helps.

    Hi Nikki,

You could achieve this by using field mapping which will help you to map your field value from lead to account.
