3 Assets failed to retire, Return code 2 on script FA_Retire_Asset

Client called yesterday and reported that he was receiving Return code 2 FA_Retire_Asset when he tried to retire assets.  He printed a retirement report, nothing shows up.

I did some research and found that I needed to rebuild the FA Calendar.  I did that and it seemed to resolve the issue.

However the 3 items (3 trucks) he attempted to retire and got the error code, their value still shows as on the books in the GL and the sale value they received for the depreciated value did not post.  In Asset General Info, I get the Asset is not an Active asset and can not be accessed via cards.

When you look for item in Retirement Maintenance it says item not active, however if you attempt to undo the retirement you receive Return code 2 on script FA_Get_Period_Info.  Date 0/0/0000.

I'm hoping to undo the retirement on these 3 items and try retiring them again.

Anyone with knowledge of tables or solutions.

thanks,

Phil Gilbert

Okay, studying the FA tables I find that the only table with my 3 ASSETIDs is FA00100, Asset General Information Master and their ASSETSTATUS is 4-Retired.  However, they are missing from FA00700, Retirement Master which has all other Assets listed as Retired in FA00100.  I plan to backup, change their AssetStatus from 4 to 1-Active.

    Hi,

The Retirement process of these 3 FAs failed might be due to Network Interruption.

Generally the System might have completed the Status Change in FA00100 table by setting the Status to Retired but at the time of updating Retirement Table FA00700, there might have some Interruption.

Your idea for taking the backup and changing the Asset Status to Active should work.

Please post the update once you try out this option.

    Thanks,

    Praveen
