Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System Store Operations v2

Hello. I know this software is ancient. But I have a client who still uses it. And he's running into SQL errors while using it. So I was going to try to update his SQL server express version from 2005 to version 2008. I've read that this requires sp2 for MDRMSSO. And, as you might imagine, I can't download that anywhere. Can anyone help me out in locating it, downloading it? Thanks in advance.

Back in 2019 I found a site with all the RMS related downloads. Just checked and it's still there: https://bcposgroup.com/rms/

I am using RMS and running it on SQL Server 2022.
What version RMS are you running?  What are the SQL Errors you are receiving?

    Hi CU28092055-0,

You're right — Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations v2 is quite dated, and compatibility with newer SQL Server versions can be tricky. To upgrade from SQL Server Express 2005 to 2008, you’ll indeed need Service Pack 2 (SP2) for RMS Store Operations.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Check Microsoft Lifecycle Downloads: Sometimes older service packs are archived in Microsoft’s lifecycle or support download centers.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: Even for legacy products, Microsoft support may be able to provide access to SP2 upon request.
    3. Community Archives: Some long-time RMS users or partners may have archived versions. Try reaching out on RMS-specific forums or LinkedIn groups.
    4. Backup First: Before upgrading SQL Server, ensure you have a full backup of both the database and RMS installation.

Let me know if this helps!
