Sharepoint Connector (Create meta data in sharepoint) and Sync Job from BC to Sharepoint

In the SharePoint Connector for Business Central, is there a way to programmatically create SharePoint metadata columns (i.e., add custom columns to a document library) directly from AL code? Currently, the built-in codeunit only supports creating folders and uploading files, but not adding or managing metadata fields. Is there any supported approach or workaround to create and sync metadata columns between SharePoint and BC?

any other way?

What is the recommended approach to set up a bidirectional sync job where:

  • Data from BC is pushed to SharePoint (e.g., document metadata or structured data), and
  • Updates or files from SharePoint can be pulled back into BC automatically or on a schedule?

    Hi Guys,

Let me rephrase my question. I want to create metadata in sharepoint. Means, I want to create custom columns to a document library, directly from AL code. PFA Attached - I want to create REF column through BC code.

Hi, Sorry, I haven't tested this in detail, but from what I understand it's possible.
You can do it through the graph api below.

I recommend testing it through Postman first.

    Thanks

    Hi Yun Zhu,

I've tried implementing the solution, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to achieve the desired result. I was wondering if you could kindly take a look whenever you have a moment—your guidance would be incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated by myself and many in the Business Central AL developer community.

One of my connections also shared the following Microsoft API documentation, which might be useful in this context:

Thanks in advance for your time and support!

Sorry I haven't used the built-in code because of some limitations.
Some of my tests are done directly using Http methods, I think you can try it.
