Loaners setup v Inventory Value zero Item

On the Service mgt module, there is the ability to setup a Loaner and 'lend' the item to the customer. Thus,, when a service order is created, a Loaner can be added to the order and then received back at a later date. However, there is a lack of a process and documentation for shipping and receiving the loaner on BC - my opinion.

Is it not far easier to just create an Inventory Value zero item on BC as representing the Loaner? In this way, a proper process for shipment via the sales order and receipt back via sales return order ensure full traceability as well as the ability to add delivery documents.

Unless there are counter arguments against it.

You should be able to find the expected data in Loaner Entries. If you still feel that the requirement is not fulfilled, you may consider submitting your idea to Microsoft for future enhancements .
