Is there a way to set up a different item price per state the item is shipped to?  Would like to keep just one item, but the price be driven off the ship to state.  Any ideas?

This is "Out of Box" in Dynamics GP. If you use standard pricing, you can setup price based on UofM and Quantity. If you use Extended Pricing, you can setup customer and prospect sales price based on UofM and Quantity. May be we can setup sales price based on state with helps of any 3rd party products or customization.

    Hope this helps!!!

An option with Extended Pricing would be to setup a different Price Sheet per state, and then assign Items and Customers to the Price Sheets, based on the Ship To state they reside in.  This wouldn't truly be based on the 'Ship To', but it might work.  However, if you have multiple Ship To states per Customer, this wouldn't work because GP wouldn't know which Price Sheet to pull from.  As Soma states, you may have to go to a 3rd party solution or a customization.  Have a look at Trinity - http://trinitypartner.com/.  They do some advanced pricing products and may be able to offer some input.

Mr. Frank suggestion is quite valid, for one address per customer. Such a nice work around solution.

Although, if things got more complicated, you might need to consider solutions like Omni Price for Microsoft Dynamics GP

    Hi Katy,

This is a great idea! So what we really need is to set price level by address ID rather that customer id. I like it!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Leslie, it doesn't appear there's a way to create price levels based on address ID currently.  Is that correct?

    Hi Katy,

How many line items do you typically have on an order? If it is just a few you could set your price levels up by state for the customer's primary address and then name any alternate ship to addresses with the state abbreviation and a number ie. AK0001. Then record a macro that copies the address id, opens the lookup to override the price level at the line item level, pastes in the address ID, tabs, and clicks enter.  I think you could better achieve this with another piece of software or a customization but I don't know enough about dexterity to make the customization myself and prefer to look for alternatives before purchasing more software.

Also would you mind sharing the need for this? Just curious..

    Regards,

    Kirk

Any update on the resolution? This is a post that is getting a large number of views so we would like to get a confirmed resolution.

There has not been a good resolution yet.  I also spoke with one of the add on softwares that people suggested and they also didn't have this capability.
