Hi:

I'm trying to import the Business Central database backup file (.bacpac) into SQL Server Management Studio.

Unfortunately, I receive the error below saying that the "file contains Corrupted data".

How do I get past this error?

Thanks!

John

Hi, Can you unzip this bacpac file? If there is an error, maybe the file is really corrupted .

And it is recommended to try with the latest SSMS.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi:

It wasn't zipped.  It is, in fact, a .bacpac file and not a .zip file.

I have the latest version of SSMS.

    Thanks!  :)

Hi, the bacpac file itself is a zip file in disguise, if you can't open it with software like 7-zip, I think it's corrupted.

    For example,

Sorry for not being able to help you more, hope other experts have better advice.

    Thanks.

    Hi:

    I downloaded and installed 7-Zip.

Then, in 7-Zip, I chose "Extract" and selected the .bacpac file.

Instead of extracting its contents, it zipped the file!

    What did I do wrong?

    Hi John,

why dont you create a anothe bacpack from database and try with that backup. I am assuming something interrupted your bacpac while you exporting.

    See if it helps.

    Regards,

    Mahesh U.

Hi, what if I choose Open directly?
And I agree with Mahesh, maybe it's really a file problem, you can try re-exporting it again.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

I have the same problem. I exported 2 times and both times the bacpac file generated from BC cloud environment cannot be imported because of corrupted data.
The bacpac file does open in 7-zip and looks like all the data is there. Looks like the bacpac file from BC are corrupted anyway?
