Synapse Link for D365 F&O - recommended Storage account type between Standard vs Premium

Hello Community

For Synapse Link kind of BI workloads, What is the recommended Storage account type between Standard vs Premium?

If the recommendation is Premium Storage account, then which type is better suited for BI workloads:

  1. Block Blobs
  2. File Shares
  3. Page Blobs

This is for a Small to Medium-sized Organization.

 

If we go with a Premium Storage Account, then would it cut down the Spark component's UP time since the data is accessible faster?

 

Appreciate any insights.

    This document describes the storage account types that Microsoft recommends for most scenarios. Storage account overview - Azure Storage | Microsoft Learn


    For Synapse Link BI workloads, the recommended storage account type is typically Premium Storage. Premium storage accounts offer higher performance, lower latency, and additional features compared to standard storage accounts. Block blobs are suitable for storing large amounts of unstructured data, such as those used in data lakes or data warehouses for BI workloads.
