Currently running RMS 2.X with mssqlserver 2012 express - wanting to update my sqlserver to a later version.
What is the latest version of mssqlserver that people are running with RMS 2.x without issues?

Hi Danny,
The article mentioned that mainstream support for Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0 ended on July 10, 2016; and extended support ends on 7/13/2021. Also, the service pack5 is the newest. Starting with SQL Server 2017, no Service Packs will be released.

Please pay attention that regardless of which release of Microsoft SQL Server you are using, you must install the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 programs that are included in the cumulative update installer. If you do not install these programs, Microsoft Dynamics RMS will not work properly.
