We use a CRM database for our asset inventory. I have recently designed a pie-chart report using Report Builder 2008 R2 and uploaded it into our CRM database. The pie-chart ideally runs the query on all active assets and displays a result. Unfortunately because of the query and number of assets (approx 40,000) the time taken to generate the report is long (approximately 3-4 minutes). So if I upload it on to the dashboard, the report takes sometime to generate.
I wanted to know if there is a way this report can be scheduled to generate at some random point during the day in the background, and then maybe a snapshot of this report can be produced and uploaded onto the dashboard.
I am not very familiar with programming so will need step by step instructions if possible. Please let me know if this is possible.
We are using Microsoft Dynamic CRM 2011
