Hello all
I hope to get some input on the delivery date control on Sales quotations. I have the requirement to use delivery date control CTP on sales quotation line. So far, I managed to receive a Planned production order for the quoted item (I defined in the respective master plan to consider sales quotations). So far so good. I also receive a date in the future respecting lead and production times.
However, on the sales quotation line, when I select "Simulate delivery dates", I do not receive a valid date. The system is fine with today's date. There is also no quantity on stock. So I assume that there is something missing, because I would expect to get the production-finish date as earliest possible delivery date for my sales quotation.
If you need any further information regarding my setup, please let me know. Thank you for any kind of feedback!
Regards
Hello Fabian,
Delivery date control method is not supported for a sales quotation line. Compared to Sales Order, it is not supported to do a line explosion of a sales quotation line, ultimately transferring a delivery date from the explosion onto the sales quotation line as confirmed ship date. You can setup your master plan to include sales quotations with a certain probability to be considered as demand, which is what I assume that you refer to. What you can do is use ATP as delivery date control method and include planned orders in calculating the available quantity. This will then include you planned production orders. Usability wise it will not bring the same results as if CTP delivery date control method were supported on the sales quotation line, but it will allow you to consider planned orders into the available quantity and hence be included in the simulate delivery dates method.
Including planned orders in the ATP calculation, should be considered based on how confident you are of the planned orders firming up and become actual orders. Otherwise, you base the sales quotation line and sales order line order promissing on projected inventory that hasn’t actually been ordered yet and may not be ordered.
