Question on Shared Reports Dictionary - Location

My client wants to store their shared reports.dic on a network location which is not automatically mapped/connected to when the user logs onto the network.

In other words they have to manually pass their credentials after logging onto the network.

I stored the Frx - Sysdata folder in a network location where the user has to manually connect prior to launching Frx and this works. In other words, Frx realizes the user has permission/credentials to the sysdata folder and Frx launches correctly.

I stored the reports.dic in the same location. For GP, the user has connected to the location before launching GP - but GP doesn't seem to realize the connection exists and it fails to launch.

Does the reports.dic location need to be mapped and automatically connected or should it work like Frx?

Any guidance will be appreciated.....

Thanks in advance.

Are you using a UNC path in the Dynamics.set file or are you trying to use a mapped drive? What, if any, error message are you receiving when the user attempts to log in?

First of all, it must be automatically connected/mapped at login.  Otherwise, the users will get errors.  Control access to specific critical reports via security, not error messages.
