Hi @CookieCo
This is possible with Mappyfield, that provide a facility of a route set, notify leads or sales activity on maps, visulize all data on maps. you can also choose area/ territory which you select for data.
Just check it Mappyfield For Dynamic CRM.
@CookieCo we use the Maplytics third-party for mapping (in Melbourne incidentally) which lets you select which view/entity your map is built upon. You could use Territories for your purpose.
Hi there further to Chadi's question - does anyone know how we can set up multiple maps? For example some of our team work in Sydney, and some in Melbourne, each map should be customised for each city's workforce... can anyone help? thanks in advance
did anyone find any solution for this ?
Hi Chadi,
Massive issue as you will note Bing maps online does the same thing to Australian metropolitan suburbs.
Interestingly though Bing online would map my lat and long correctly however in Dynamics would map me to a different suburb.
Also interestingly the built in standard Bing map on Accounts seems to geo locate correctly.
MS are well aware although like everything I won't be holding my breath.
ye i'm having a lot issues with Bing maps in Australia especially with certain address that cannot be found with Bing Map in addition that Changes the City/Suburb name.
This is really frustrating.
In regards to Mahad's reply:
I have integrated Google maps before for Address validation but it was unsupported. Also at the time had no need to try and capture geo coordinates. Can't look now but I thought there where some Partner add on's for Google.
What I have done as a work around is turn auto geo code off and upload the lat and long. Bing maps changes Australian cities / suburbs to the major city name although it does most of the time geo code correctly the pin / location. So for new Accounts you can select to geo code and see if the pin finds the right location and cancel the address dialogue box the choose change on the map box.
Hi,
This is a really very interesting question. I had a similar requirement. I have observed that Bing maps aren't very accurate at picking addresses. Most of my accounts addresses weren't even recognized by Bing Maps. And this is where the resource in field services weren't able to track the address of the account, if a work order was assigned to him/her. I did waste a lot of effort searching for an out of the box integration with Google maps similar to Bing maps, but realized that Microsoft Dynamics CRM doesn't supports any such integration with Google maps. Only alternative you are left with I could possibly imagine is adding HTML web resources and using Google maps there, see this:
But I believe this would not work in a similar manner to Bing maps and will require a lot of customization. Hope that helps!
