How to Update Mass Records in CRM?

I posted about this in the past but I can't find the thread, it may have been deleted.

I have a list of 100 records on a spreadsheet (not exported from CRM) that I need to update one field for.  Unfortunately there's no unique criteria among the record where I could create the same view to export and re-import.

Is there an easy way to import these so that the field changes to the value I want without having to manually do it one by one in CRM?

    Hi,

Have you tried SQL query if its on-prem?

How many different values you want to replace?

One option is to use case statements in an SQL query.

If you dont have the unique identifier to export them, you cant bulk update it.

One solution is; export all records (with column to be changed). Now apply vlookup between your 100 records excel and all records excel, update and import back.

    Hi CRM Learner 8,

Since you only have 100 records, I suggest you bulk edit by batches. You may be able to filter the records based on some criteria (using advanced find) and then use the OOTB bulk edit feature to update the field of all the filtered set of records. Repeat with different set of criteria.

    Cheers,

    Nadeeja

    Hi,

You could filter the required records using Advanced Find or create a view of these records and bulk edit all the records in it as shown in the screenshot below.

There are so many ways to update records as bulk in CRM. Refer the following link to see the possible ways.

Trying using the OOTB Bulk Edit functionality of CRM, and for filtering out the records simple need to use Advance Find, and keep modifying your query , that will fetch new records and you can undertake the bulk edit functionality

If you don't have Unique criteria then how do you determine what records need updated? There must be a way to identify these records - Once you have identified them just use the standard CRM Bulk Edit
