When we select the Item journal template and go to batches, we see names with hexadecimal names being created by the system. eg. 07F5F23E-D with description DEFAULT. Where does this come from? We deleted them before, but they are back again.
Thanks Josh
MahGah,
See Josh's reply to finalize resolving the issue. Check your Item Journal Template setting, shown in his pic.
Thanks,
Steve
The Item Journal Template controls the batch naming change I believe
No. Series is for the “Document No.” which is a mandatory requirement for posting the journal. You can key in one manually but you can’t have repeat numbers. Makes sense to keep that.
Thanks Steven for response
Quick question. Does No. Series requires for this setup? or we can set it up without No. series.
Thanks
Hendrik,
Business Central Batch Codes that contain numbers, after posting will automatically increase the last number existing in Batch Name. In your Item Journal Template, Item Journal Batches does it look like this:
Give the Name a literal Name no numbers. You can assign them to users if needed.
Hope this helps.
