Unable to configure sort order by required fields

I have added two fields into a view, and for some reason im unable to sort the records by those fields. Please see screenshot below;

I have added 'Estimated Mobile profit' and 'Total Profit' but when I click on the headers it doesn't sort it neither ascending nor descending.

I tried to configure the sort order however, those fields don't even come up, please see below;

Is there something I need to enable?

Many thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    If fields are calculated you can't use it in sorting - docs.microsoft.com/.../calculated-rollup-attributes

    Are they?

    Are these fields calculated fields ? If so, there are some cases where you cannot sort on calculated fields:

    • If they reference fields in the parent entity
    • If they reference other calculated fields
    • If they reference logical fields (like the label of an option set)

    See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/customize/define-calculated-fields for a bit more detail

    You also can't specify a sort order on fields from a parent entity, but it doesn't look like this is the issue here

    Ah ok yes the 'Total profit' field is a calculated field that is a total of two calculated fields.

    I guess there is no way to bypass this? i.e. make a separate field that copies the number from the 'Total Profit' but as a standard line of text or a whole number so that it can be sorted?

    I believe creation of real field and copying of calculated value into it should resolve your issue.
