Correct wrong Unit of measure

Dears, thanks in advance

I've a real case that the Item unit of measure has been entered incorrect, while creating an Item.

Example:

Item: Tissues 

Base unit of measure is Pcs

the BOX contains 12 Pcs

The user configured (by mistake) the BOX to contain only 10 PCS.

There are purchases & sales transactions on that item.

Are there a way to correct that mistake?

    As long as you do not have any sales orders, purchase orders, warehouse activity and so on in your system that currently use that UOM for that item you can change the Item Unit of measure so it will be correct for new entries in your system.

    To correct the old ones you can reverse all those transactions before you reconfigure the Item Unit of Measure and the invoice again with  the new configuration. If it is worth it or not depends how many transactions you have in your system.

    You can also create additional invoices using the base UOM to adjust for the qty that was not invoice before.

    Anyway - it requires a bit of caution to get it correct.

    Hi,

    Block this item and Create New Item with correct UOM and then transfer the blocked inventory in Correct Item.
