Outlook Plugin - Reinstall or Just Reconfigure?

I have a CRM 2011 online instance and will be migrating to an on premises version of CRM 2011. How do the end users handle the plugin, do we just change the URL or is there a different version of the plugin needed when connected to an on premises instance of CRM?

    Shouldn't need a different version just update the url.

    You wouldn't happen to know how it can be automated for the end user would you? Assuming all clients are admins on their PC and it were added to a login script, could this just be a registry setting or config/ini file change?

    There is some information here talking about how to configure the install of the outlook client with a script.  I believe this should help you on your way.  I have not done this myself.

    Just Re-configure the Outlook client with the CRM On-Premise URL, that should take care of the configuration.
