hi there,

I am trying to migrate some data so that the GUIDs are preserved between the two environments, I have managed to export the schema file using the tool and then import it to the source environment but when I checked the GUIDS of the records are different, I have followed those instructions https://www.powerobjects.com/blog/2018/08/27/microsoft-dynamics-365-crm-configuration-migration-tool/ but I have not exported the whole entity just the name field and id field, any ideas why the GUIDs are not the same?

    the problem was that I didn't include the GUIDs initially and added it subsequently but that obviously wouldn't update already existing records so I have deleted the records completely and re-imported it with the new schema. Your answer has prompted me to do this so thank you

    Which entity are you migrating ? There are a few records for system entities that get generated by CRM, and therefore get a new Guid; examples are users, and the default teams created for each BU.

    If that's not the cause, I'd check the export data file (you can unzip it, and open the xml file within) just to be sure that the GUID field was included, and had values
