Different Products available to Different Registers

Hi,

My company is looking to setup a new Store that would connect to our central HQ through a SO Server and HQ Client, with 2 register lanes. But we were curious if it is possible to limit what each register can see in an f2 search and ring up, since each register will be in a separate room, dedicated to a specific part of the inventory.

As well, would it be possible to limit what that SO Server receives from HQ in terms of items? Since the store will specialize in only 2 different categories of products, it wouldn't make much sense to have it sync and grab all the other items it has nothing to do with

Impossible for standard RMS implementation to make each register show only its allocated items, you need to customize lookup screen in your case because RMS not supported record level security.

You can implement two different stores databases in this store each store contains its allocated items. you can download some items to each store.

    Hello Patrick,

    Thank you for your question.

Ramy is right, there is no way within a store database to restrict items to a particular register. You would need to create separate databases for each register setting each up as a separate store and then acquire a separate Headquarters license for each separate store.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you,

Thanks for the answer, Ramy and Scott.

I will pass this along to my Snr. Management so as they can make their call on the situation.

You have both been very helpful.
