Issues with Data on Dynamics Business Central homepage

Hi All,

I’m currently experiencing some issues with several of the tiles on the Dynamics Business Central homepage that display revenue information, as well as with the Trial Balance table that is visible on the homepage.

Typically, the Trial Balance would pull data from the G/L, and running the income statement shows the expected figures. However, as shown in the attached screenshot, the tiles and the table on the homepage aren’t reflecting this correctly.

I’ve reviewed previous posts and the only similar issues I could find were related to RLS datasets, though I’m not sure if that’s the root cause here.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,
This is a known behavior in some environments and usually relates to data source context, date filters, or user permissions

    Here are some possible fixes:

    1. Verify the G/L Account Setup
    • Ensure that your Revenue and Cost accounts are properly categorized (e.g., “Income Statement” account category).
    • If the Income/Balance field is blank or misconfigured, KPIs might not recognize them properly.
Go to: Chart of Accounts → Open the G/L account → Check "Income/Balance", "Account Category", and "Account Subcategory".
    2. Check Trial Balance Date Filter
    • The "Current Period" in the Trial Balance tile might rely on a default date filter (like the system date or work date).
    • If your fiscal period is misaligned or the "Work Date" isn't within the active period, it may show blanks.
    Try this:
    • Open the Trial Balance page from the Role Center
    • Use Personalize → Add the "Date Filter" field
    • Manually set the filter to 01/06/2025..31/06/2025 and refresh
     3. Refresh Analysis Views or KPI Caches
If the tile or the Trial Balance relies on Analysis Views or a background process:
    • Navigate to Analysis Views
    • Select the relevant view
    • Click Update → "Update Analysis View Entries"
Also, ensure the Job Queue isn't stuck or in error.

    Wish that will Helps :)

Homepage tiles like revenue and Trial Balance rely on FlowFields, background jobs (Job Queues), and proper filters or permissions. If those tiles show wrong data but reports are correct, the issue almost always comes down to one of these factors. Checking Job Queue status, user permissions, and Role Center setup is the standard troubleshooting approach.

Hi, I'm not sure if it's a column setting issue? But you can check and see if it can be displayed in the Financial Report.

Also pay attention to whether you have permission to access this data.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi All,

Thanks for all the help so far.

Upon review of the below, it looks like it may be something to do with date ranges. (I should add, this has been functioning correctly for a large amount of time and has only stopped working on the 1st of June).

As you can see in the below the date range, which when looking back is usually just for the month, is now out until the 31/12/9999. I can't seem to find where I need to make the change to reflect here on the trail balance

In the trial balance I have the following rows and column selected:

And then digging down further into the reduced trial balance I have inputted the correct date filter, and the data below this is 100% accurate, but still displays as - on the dashboard.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!
