Opportunity Revenue

I'm wondering if in opportunities, it's possible to divide revenue by number of years.  So, for example, if an opportunity is worth $300,000 over 3 years, I want to divide that up so that only $100,000 of revenue is recognized each year.  Please help!

    Hello Lauren.

Add a new money-field to the opportunity and calculate the value by revenue and year with JS or BusinessRule... or use a calculated field.

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

    Karsten,

Thanks a bunch. Can you help me figure out what this field would look like- I'm still pretty new to CRM!

    No problem, I'll help you.

Do you need the "revenue by years" stored in the database or only in views?

Stored in the database.  We'll want to be able to include it in reports.

Thank you so much--this is exactly what I need. Is field three a calculated field?

    Hello Lauren.

No, it must be simple... calculated fields are NOT stored in the database, so you have to use a type "simple"-field and add some code (js or plugin) or processes to the field to achieve your requirement.

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

    Hi Lauren,

To add to Karstens post, you could use a calculated field in CRM if you dont want to do any code,  then do the same calculation in an SSRS report to get the figure you need.  I suppose it all depends on which you find easier.
