Allocation Account

When creating allocation entries - GP does not provide a pre batch report to verify the amounts are being properly allocated.

GP provides this after you post the account. I would like the user to have the opportunity to review the allocated journal entry prior to posting.

For example my allocation account = 000-000-9000

It will be allocated to 20 different departments based on percentages.

Therefore if I enter  the following Journal entry

100-000-5000 Credit for $10000

000-000-9000 Debit for $10000  - it should debit all the 20 different departments.

Although GP does this correctly, but I am not able to see the distribution until I post the JE. I would like the user to print the batch prior to posting - but printing the batch prior to posting will not break out the allocation distribution.

Does anyone have any workarounds on this?

thanks

    Sunil,

If your allocation percentage is fixed than it will be easy task to distribute the Amount to all dept, even you can use small VB screen in Dynamics GP to show the distribution of Amt to all Dept.

    Thanks

    Sandip,

Yes it is a fixed allocation.

Can you eloborate a bit on the suggested solution. I am familiar with VBA and modifier.

This window will have to be available during the JE creation time.

    Thanks

    Sunil,

Find the table of Allocation i.e percentage table., add New form with Grid Control and in JV window (Scrolling Window) add one button to open the VB Form,

user first need to select Account that will be your active Row, on Button Click event you need to distribute the $ Amount as per the Percentage( Allocation Table) and you can display distributed Amt and GL A/c No in VB Form

Hope above solution will help you.

    Thanks
    Sandip

    Hi,

go to batch entry window and mark checkbox breakdown allocation, print the edit list, this should show what you wanted.
