Creating task activities for multiple contacts

I'm trying to figure out a way to track survey responses using activities of the type "task" for multiple contacts who are part of a marketing list. I'm hoping a dialog or workflow process can help me since it doesn't seem that I can add "task" activities for multiple contacts at one time in the CRM 2011 GUI. Tracking the survey by using activities helps us see what's going on with those contacts.

First, I plan on creating a static marketing list to get my initial survey audience and use it for email communications with them. I'd then like to create activities of type "task" for each of those contacts for the survey. As people complete our survey I want to be able to mark their "survey" task complete and drop them off of the marketing list since they no longer require follow-up.

So the created task would get a specific title for the survey and be in the "open" state. There can't be just one title for the task  - each survey has a different audience (which seems to mean that I can't use a workflow to create the tasks since I need to get CRM user input for that title e.g. "survey 123"). Once the person completes the survey we could mark that task complete. Then finally, we could update the static marketing list weekly via a query - removing all of those marketing list members who have their task (survey 123) marked complete.

A dialog works, but that can only work against one contact at a time it seems. Some of these surveys have more than a 1000 contacts so I need to figure out some automation here.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Follow-up - I saw some postings related to using a "quick campaign", but those apparently can't create an activity of type "task". Too bad, sounds like what I needed.

    Hi Alan,

How are you planning on getting the contacts to complete the surveys?

**Typically we would email a link to a survey (web), contacts would complete the survey and a new surveyresponse record (custom entity) would be associated with that contact and automatically be created against the contact. A bit field on the contact would then be updated (e.g. contact X -> completedsurveya = true), which makes any future adv find fairly simple.

Any contacts that do not have completedsurveya set to true (and in marketing list survey a), would thus not have completed the survey.

You could thus run a view on all contacts that haven't completed a survey and work off this (as opposed to create a number of tasks beforehand).

I'm new to CRM and I still don't see a solution on the web over a year later.

Adding an identical tasks to multiple Accounts or Contacts seems like elementary functionality.

    Any progress finding a solution?
