Reconfiguring Servers for BC On Prem after cloning

Hi Everyone

We have a two computer on prem installation with server names: bcprodapp and bcproddb
We have an SSL certificate issued to the bcprodapp server
This installation is running smoothly and will be used for production.

My Question is now, when we do a clone of the servers to accommodate a UAT environment with names bcuatapp and bcuatdb how would we have to reconfigure the Bindings etc. where the SSL certificate plays a role?

Should a new certificate be issued to the servers in order for us to change the Bindings?
or
Can we still use the the same certificate (I presume this is NOT the case)

As far as i know. cloned servers with new names require a new SSL certificate matching the UAT server’s hostname (bcuatapp). This ensures HTTPS bindings in IIS and Business Central configurations recognize the UAT environment securely. Reusing the production SSL certificate isn’t viable due to hostname mismatches, so generating a new certificate for bcuatapp and updating configurations is the recommended approach.
