Download Symbol error for Test app

Hello Experts,

We are getting error while trying to download symbol for "Test" app package. Attached .app screen shot for your reference. Please let us know if we missed anything.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Lisa,

You need to specify tenant and sand box name in the launch .json file .

and make sure you have the right permission in the business central against your account

Thanks for your reply. We are already using "Super" role. We are only getting error while try to create package for *Test app*.

Check a few things:

1. If you are using the correct Sandbox environment credentials. Clear Credential Cache and try again.

2. If the Package already exists (unlikely, but you can check)

3. Whether you have the permission for D365 EXTENSION MGT

Thanks for your reply. However we are having issue while downloading Test Toolkit. It seems doesn't download from the SaaS version for Automation script. Do we have any solution/workaround for this?

Hello Lissa,

I am experiencing exactly the same problem as you are/have.

I have tried several different methods:

- Typing "test": "16.0.0.0" in the app.json file as you have shown.

- Downloading the test toolkit to a Docker container and running the testapp in the container without any successful result.

It would be nice if someone could provide an answer/solution to this problem.

Hi Lisa

1. For test toolkit, consider developing your test app on a container where you can include the test toolkit.

2. Make sure you add the Primary app(which you are going to test) as dependency in app.json file.

Hello Mohsin,

I tried installing the test toolkit when creating a docker container using the syntax "-includeTestToolKit" in the code.

However, I seem to have problem downloading the Microsoft_Test_Runner.app.

Please see the picture below.

When to googling this problem, I found that I need a license file in order to fix this issue.

How do I get one if I am not a certified developer? I just develop as "a hobby" to learn programming.

Developer license is mandatory for this and Its quite an expensive one. You can speak with one of Microsoft partners in your region if you want to get one.
