Price List utilities

I would like to use the price list utilities option to update retail prices on the system. I am going through the wizard option, increase by a percentage of the selling price. Indicate the amount the restrictions, see the item numbers being selected, but none being updated.

This is the first time I am using this and not sure what to look for, there are no error messages. When you click finish it shows '0' items updated.

Any insight would be appreciated.

    Hi Rosemary,

Check if you have the same "Price Method" in the "Item Price List Maintenance" that you are using in the utility.

I think you have to use the same.

No it is not, it is 'currency amount', is there an easy way to get around this?

We have price increases of 2.5% overall, the inventory is over 15,000 items, it is either this or use a script.  We have 'retail' price level and 'wholesale', we are updating only the 'retail'.

    Thanks

You can still use the Price List Utility. You would just have to pick "Currency Amount" as your Price Method. In the next screen after that selection, you can specify the percentage increase.

In case you needed to, in the subsequent screens, you'll be able to specify rounding options and even manual overrides of the calculated increase.

When I try this, I have to key in an 'initial amount', and this is the result, shouldn't the 'initial amount' have been added to the price?

This is what I want an increase in the current selling price.

Okay, I saw what I did wrong, I did not specify the price level, and yes the prices did update as they should.

    Thanks again.

    RE: Price List utilities

Question - I am using the price list utilities, but I want to change the the decimal positions, I am getting a message 'cannot complete the job while invoices are being posted', this is in the test, and we do have fulfillment orders waiting to invoice.

Is it because of the open documents?

There may be user activity records that need to be cleared out.

There are several tables that hold user activity records, but once all users have exited GP, these same tables should be empty.  If you have all users exit from Dynamics GP, you can then run these scripts to clear any "abandoned" activity records. Just be sure your users are out of GP first! You don't want to corrupt any transaction records by kicking them out in the middle of a live transaction.

You can run these in SQL Server Management Studio, or you can have your IT person or GP Partner run them, if you prefer:

    delete dynamics..activity

    delete tempdb..dex_lock

    delete tempdb..dex_session

    delete dynamics..sy00800

    delete dynamics..sy00801
