Greetings Folks
I would like to know if this is possible please and your input would be appreciated.
We use FIFO for our item costing. We need to have different costs per location. Stock transferred to a target site would have landed costs applied to those stock receipts only.
Is this possible with the FIFO costing method please or does it only work if the costing method is average?
Thank you
No worries. What is your local version. Maybe I can install and test.
Also, I know you need "I can see that I can generate it for 1 location at a time, but that is not practical. Is there a way to have the totals per location please."
Maybe try this
you can look into "Value Entries" as well. You can filter it for Type" = "Purchase" and "Entry Type" = "Direct Cost|Variance" to get some data.
In addition you can publish page 5802 (Value Entries) in Webservice then use Excel - ODATA - Power Query to build such a report.
For Excel - OData look into: https://archerpoint.com/how-to-use-business-central-odata-feeds-to-get-data-into-excel-for-reporting/

Good day
Yes, I'm thinking that must be the case. Thank you for your time as you tried to assist me with this.

Hi
I think maybe this option is not available in your localization. I used BC US version without any customization (used container version). I only can think that MS did not added this function for your local version.
Good day
Could you please confirm if you are looking at a customised screen and report?
Here are my screen shots and you will see that I don't have your options of "Breakdown by Variannts" or "Breakdown by Location"
Thank you
Hi
That is strange. I am in version 19.3 as well. See below video. I tested this with both Premium and Essential license and both had these options. Can you please post screenshot of your options?
Thanks
Greetings
My Inv Valuation report does not have the 1st 3 parameters as shown in your screen shot. I don't have the choice of Breakdown by Variant or Breakdown by Location.
Mine first section is "Options" where I key in dates and then my next section is "Filter:Item."
My version is - Version: W1 19.3 (Platform 19.0.34506.34941 + Application 19.3.34541.35002)
Thank you
Hi
When you run Inventory Valuation can you select "Breakdown by Location" then leave the location blank. Of course you can add item no or not. Then try
Greetings Inge
Thank you for the reply.
In order to test this, I need to run the Inv Valuation report across all my locations where I can see the costs per location. I can see that I can generate it for 1 location at a time, but that is not practical. Is there a way to have the totals per location please.
Thank you
Well the FIFO costing is transaction based. So when if you have different costing for different purchases to different locations. The FIFO cost will always follow along.
If you post expected cost that cost will however be your average cost while waiting for it to be adjusted to it's exact FIFO cost.
And the average cost can differ depending on your warehouse setup.
But at the end of the day you - the fifo will be transactions based per location when all postings and adjustments are done.
