We would like to designate substitute items should one of our items stockout.  I'm having difficulty finding where to set this up at the item level, was thinking I saw it in the Inventory Item Maintenance record but cannot find the field.

Is there a way to do this that is not an Item Cross Reference?

i.e. - we would like to designate that if item ABC-001 is out of stock, then substitute item XYZ-999 on the Sales Order/Shipper.

    Uou can use Plan Groups in Formula management.. You can create a plan groups and put all alternative items in same groups in the formula lines. If there are 2 items, you need to put both the items in the formula lines and give priority by giving the group.
