How to use Pallet ID in storage dimension In D365 (after upgrate from AX 2012)

Hi all,

I am implementing for a company upgrade from AX to D365. I get some issues related to Pallet ID. 

In AX, a lots of products is assigned Pallet ID (storage dimension), as below:

After upgrading to D365, i dont see Pallet ID in storage dimension, as below:

So that, all of existing products (enable Pallet ID), which are upgrading from AX to D365 still get error related to storage dimension. I also cant change another storage dimension code. And I dont do transactions relating to those products

Please help me to fix them. I mean i need your help relating to using Plate ID in d365.

    Hello Dao,

    In D365 Pallet ID has been replaced with License Plate ID, you need to activate same. As seen in your snapshot it`s not active.

    Hi Dao,

    Can you tell how you plan for data upgrade? Do you intend to upgrade the database or have you considered moving master and setup data and import opening balances?

    Depending on your data upgrade plans, the way how to change the usage from Pallet ID to License plates might be different.

    Hi, Ashish Upadhyay! You mean i need to create new storage dimension code (active License plate ID), then i need to replace for existing products (which are assigned with activating Plate ID), right?

    But, it is difficult to change the storage dimension of existing items, because they have transactions. Please have me some advice!

    We will move all master data from the live AX enviroment to the D365 system. If any, we just import the opening balances in a newest month. Please give me some advice following this plan. Many thanks

    I think we will upgrade all master data from AX to D365 with OB.

    Hi Dao,

    If you perform a new setup of the storage dimension groups using the License plate instead of the Pallet, you can create license plate records with all the values you had in the pallets table. When using the same names for the storage dimension groups, the item master import would be quite easy.

    When importing the opening balances, you then only have to use the column name License plate instead of Pallet ID.
