Multiple Levels of a Production BOM

Hi:

In the "Production BOM" screen, you can display subassemblies by choosing Production BOM in the "Type" column at the bottom of that screen for any such subasembly.

Other than navigating to the Item Card's "BOM Structure" screen for that top-level BOM, is there a means of seeing that BOM's multiple levels within either one screen or report?

Thanks!

John

Yes, in Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can view multiple levels of a Production BOM using:

    1. BOM Structure Report

      • Go to Production BOM → Print → BOM Structure to generate a multi-level view.
    2. Indented BOM Report

      • Navigate to Manufacturing → Reports → Indented BOM to see a hierarchical BOM structure.

These options allow you to see all levels of a BOM in a single view.

@Saif Ali Sabri: Neither of those reports exist, in Business Central.

Hmm....I think that that youtube video might be an advertisement for a 3rd party product.

You answered your own question, but don't seem to like your own answer.

If you are on the Finished Good and use the Structure screen it will show you the full multi-level BOM for that Item.  This includes the sub-assemblies and their related sub-assemblies.  It also includes the Routings for those Sub-Assemblies.  I'm not sure what kind of view you're looking for, but the Structure functionality seems to address your question.

If you are looking for costing information, the Cost-Shares report shows the cost breakdown of the levels.

P.S. Type = "Production BOM" is not technically a sub-assembly.

You don't have to be so blunt.  I don't profess to be an expert.  I'm simply looking for support.  I failed the CPA exam, so I cannot get into another line of work.

    Have a nice day, anyhow.
